The optimal predictive, preventive, corrective and opportunistic maintenance policies play an important role in the success of sustainable operations. This study discusses a new energy efficiency-related policy optimization method, which is based on failure data status information from both physical system digital twin-based discrete event simulation. presents functional model, mathematical model solution algorithm. method proposed this paper made up four main phases: computation consumption levelized cost energy, GHG emission, value determination equations application Howard’s iteration techniques. approach was tested with scenario analysis, where different electricity generation sources were taken into consideration. computational results validated show that optimized can lead to average 38% reduction regarding related costs. Practical implications regard possibility finding affect emissions operation manufacturing systems.
